1. Can you tell something about IITTM?

Ans. Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. It is one of the premier institutes in the country offering education, training, research and consultancy in sustainable management of tourism, travel and other allied sectors. The stakeholders’ realisation of the need for trained tourism professionals resulted in the creation of IITTM in 1983 in New Delhi. Presently the centres of IITTM are located at Gwalior (Head Quarter), Bhubaneswar, NOIDA,  (NIWS), Nellore and camp offices at Bodh Gaya and Shillong. IITTM is devoted to pursuing higher knowledge in tourism and disseminating it to a diverse audience.

2. Why should I choose IITTM?

Ans. IITTM is autonomous institute under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India with strong ties with Tourism and travel industry providing good industry exposure to students. IITTM also specializes in tourism research, training and consultancy.

3. What are the teaching programmes offered at IITTM?

Ans. IITTM offers MBA in Tourism and Travel Management (TTM) and BBA (Tourism & Travel) programmes ((as per the MoU signed under the collaborative scheme of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi– Ministry of Education, Govt. of India)) at Gwalior, NOIDA, Bhubaneswar, Goa and Nellore centers.

4. What are the fees for the various programmes?

Ans. Fees for the MBA (TTM) programme (for two years) is Rs 3,40,00/- and for BBA (Tourism & Travel) (for three years) is Rs. 2,80,000/-. The hostel and mess charges are excluded from these fee amounts.

5. Can fees be paid in installments?

Ans. Full fees is payable on a semester-wise basis, and the full amount for each semester must be paid at the beginning of the semester.

6. What is the eligibility Criteria for MBA (Tourism) and BBA (Tourism & Travel) programmes?

Ans. For MBA (TTM), the candidate shall be required to possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Indian or foreign university (as per the AIU foreign equivalence list), having secured a minimum of 50% aggregate in case of General and OBC categories and 45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category.

For BBA (Tourism & Travel), the candidates shall have passed 10 + 2 examinations in any subject from a recognized University / Board with a minimum of 50% marks for UR / OBC (45% for SC / ST / PWD).

7. Does IITTM have hostel facilities?

Ans. Yes, a modest hostel accommodation for both boys and girls is available on the campus. However, the capacity of these hostels is limited and the offer is made based on merit.

8. How do I apply for MBA (TTM) or BBA (TT) courses?

Ans. The candidate can apply only through online mode. Refer to Admission Bulletins for details.

9. I have appeared in CAT / MAT / CMAT / XAT / ATMA / GMAT / CUET Exam. Do I have to appear for the IITTM Admission test (IIAT)for admission to the MBA,?

Ans. We accept CAT / MAT / CMAT / XAT / ATMA / GMAT scores or IIAT scores. But in case you would like to improve your chances you may appear for IIAT. The test date is notified in advance. 10. For admission to BBA, I have appeared in the CUET Exam. Do I have to appear for the IITTM Admission test (IIAT)?

Ans: You can either submit your CUET score or appear in the written test “IITTM Admission Test (IIAT)” to be conducted by IITTM. For the test date, candidates may refer to the admission bulletins or else contact 9818771562, 9818771652 or 9818771453.

11. Do reservations apply for admission to IITTM programmes?

Ans. Reservation for SC, ST, OBC (under the Non-creamy layer) and Physically Challenged candidates will be applicable as per Govt. of India rules i.e. 7.5% for ST, 15% for SC, 27% for OBC (under the non-creamy layer) and 10% for EWS candidates.  In all the available seats, a 3% horizontal reservation shall also be applicable for physically disabled candidates for admission to MBA (Tourism & Travel Management) 2024-26.

12. Does IITTM undertake any research and training programs?

Ans. Yes, IITTM staff are actively engaged in research, consultancies, executive training and other outreach activities.

13. Is there any "ragging" at IITTM?

Ans. No, ragging is strictly prohibited at IITTM. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of ragging. Any interactions with seniors are expected to be friendly and respectful.

14. Is there a prescribed uniform?

Ans. Yes, information can be collected from the Course Chairperson(s).

15. Does IITTM have a pan-India presence?

Ans. We have students from almost all states of India enrolled in our courses.

16. Do you offer any foreign language?

Ans. Foreign Language is one of the modules in MBA (TTM) and BBA (TT) courses. Depending upon the choice of the batch and availability french, German or Spanish language is taught as part of the curriculum.
